Jakarta, FLUNUD.ac.id – The Master of Notary Studies Program (MKN Program) at the Faculty of Law, University of Udayana, conducted a field study to the MKN Program at the Faculty of Law, University of Jakarta (UI) on Wednesday (August 20, 2025), which was organized in the form of a notary dialogue, sharing session, and student discussion forum. This activity served as an academic collaboration space to discuss the challenges of the notary profession amid the development of the digital era while strengthening networks among graduate students.

The MKN FH Unud team, consisting of the MKN Co-Chair (Prof. Dr. Made Subawa, SH., MS.), Lecturers (Dr. I Made Walesa Putra, SH., M.Kn and Dr. Kadek Sarna, SH., M.Kn), teaching staff, and students, were welcomed by the Deputy Dean of FH UI (Dr. Endah Hartati, SH., MH), the Head of the UI MKN Study Program (Dr. M Sofyan Pulungan, SH., MA), Lecturers (Dr. Edmon Makarim, S.Kom., SH., LLM; Ayu Galuh Aggrainin, M.Kn; Hanna Arinawati, M.Kn) and the MKN Student Association.

The notarial dialogue was held with two main speakers, namely Dr. Edmon Makarim, S.Kom., S.H., LL.M., who emphasized that digitization is an inevitability, so notaries are required to be able to adapt to legal technology. Dr. I Made Walesa Putra, S.H., M.Kn. highlighted the importance of clear regulations and legal certainty so that digitization does not cause confusion in notarial practice in Indonesia. The two academics analyzed the dynamics and challenges faced by the notary profession in responding to digital transformation, including issues of electronic document validity, personal data protection, and the integration of electronic systems in notarial practice.

After the dialogue session, the event continued with a sharing session and focus group discussion (FGD) led by students from both universities. In this forum, MKN FH UNUD and UI students exchanged experiences regarding the dynamics of student organizations, strategies for strengthening academic capacity, and discussed curricula and courses that support the development of prospective notaries' competencies.

This study tour was organized with the aim of broadening academic horizons, strengthening cooperation networks between universities, and encouraging students to be better prepared to face the dynamics of the notary profession in the future. The collaboration between UNUD and UI is expected to produce sustainable academic synergy in the fields of education, research, and community service.
