Denpasar, FLUNUD.ac.id – Students of the Faculty of Law, Udayana University, through the Asian Law Students' Association Local Chapter Udayana University (ALSA LC Unud), carried out the ALSA Protect Our Ocean activity through seagrass planting at Mertasari Beach, Denpasar, on Sunday (18/10/2026). This activity is a form of student concern for the preservation of marine ecosystems as well as an effort to increase awareness of the importance of protecting the coastal environment.
The seagrass planting aims to increase participants' understanding of the important role of seagrass in maintaining the balance of marine ecosystems. Seagrass is a flowering plant that lives in shallow marine waters and has ecological benefits, such as being a habitat for marine biota, maintaining sediment stability, and absorbing and storing carbon. Therefore, protecting the seagrass ecosystem is an important part of efforts to preserve the marine environment.
Through this activity, students of the Faculty of Law, Udayana University, show that the role of students is not only limited to academic activities, but is also realized through real contributions to society and the environment. ALSA Protect Our Ocean also serves as a means to foster a sense of responsibility, social concern, and pride in being part of the Faculty of Law, Udayana University, through actions that benefit the environment.
Through ALSA Protect Our Ocean, ALSA LC Unud hopes to encourage the younger generation to actively participate in preserving marine ecosystems. This awareness is expected to be applied sustainably in daily life, considering that marine protection is a shared responsibility that requires commitment from various parties.
