CLC Essay Competition: The First Step to Realizing Critical Thinking for the Young Generation

Jimbaran, Badung, FLUNUD.ac.id - The Final Round and Awarding of the Essay Competition at the Senior/Vocational High School Level in Denpasar City took place on Saturday (21/10/2023, located in the Bangsa Room of the UNUD Rectorate Building. The essay competition held by students who are members of the Criminal Law Community (CLC) for the 2023/2024 period has the theme "Questioning the Role of the Young Generation in Revitalizing the Dynamics of National Law Based on Pancasila Values."
This CLC essay competition includes several series of activities, starting from registration, preliminary round, technical meeting of finalists, to the final round which presents the five best teams from 24 teams that have registered previously. In the final round, the finalists' presentations were assessed by 3 judges (Lecturers of FH UNUD), namely: Mr. A.A. Ngurah Oka Yudistira Darmadi, S.H., M.H., A.A. Istri Eka Krisna Yanti, S.H., M.H., and I Gusti Ngurah Nyoman Krisnadi Yudiantara, S.H., M.H. Of the 24 high school/vocational school teams in Denpasar, both public and private schools that registered, 5 teams were selected for the final round: SMAN 1 Denpasar as 2 teams, SMAN 3 Denpasar, SMAN 4 Denpasar, and SMAN 8 Denpasar.
The purpose of the CLC Essay Competition is to improve the critical thinking skills of the participants in analyzing and reviewing issues relevant to the theme raised, as well as to facilitate the participants in developing their interest and talent in writing. Based on the results of the assessment of the judges, the 1st place was won by the Retris Team from SMAN 3 Denpasar, 2nd place was won by the Smapan Jaya Team from SMAN 8 Denpasar, 3rd place was won by the Smansa Denpasar Team from SMAN 1 Denpasar, 1st Hope was won by the Acikiwir Team from SMAN 4 Denpasar, and 2nd Hope was won by the Smansa Team from SMAN 1 Denpasar.
