Improving Internationalization FH Udayana Lecturer Attends Forum in Malaysia “IP Talent in the Digital Age”

Selangor-Malaysia, FL.UNUD.ac.id - Udayana University Faculty of Law lecturer, Putu Aras Samsithawrati, SH, LLM participated as an invited Guest in the International Forum on Intellectual Property Innovation and Governenace in the Digital Economy Era held at Xiamen University Malaysia, Sepang-Selangor, Malaysia, in May 2025. The forum brought together academics, legal practitioners, and industry players from various countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Japan, Vietnam and Singapore to discuss and share experiences regarding the development of intellectual property (IP) in the digital era.
In the forum attended by representatives from various countries, Putu Aras Samsithawrati, SH, LLM became one of the speakers in a roundtable discussion entitled “How to Cultivate IP Talent in the Digital Era”. In her presentation, she explained the various steps that have been taken by FH Unud to maximize IP Talent for lecturers and students in the digital era in the perspective of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. He argued that FH Unud has taken various steps to support this. For example, conducting lecturer research in the field of IP in line with the mapping of IP in Bali by inviting students to be involved in it. For example, this year, Putu Aras Samsithawrati, SH, LLM and the team conducted research on Optimizing Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Supporting Global Tourism through Brand Registration Incentives with Digital Campaign Strategies in Gianyar Regency. In addition, lecture programs that combine IP theory and practice, as found in IP courses, Civil Law Clinics and MBKM Bina Desa with personal and communal IP registration programs that actually contribute to helping Balinese people understand IP. There are also various legal disseminations on IP and the importance of Balinese works to be protected in the digital era.
In addition to being a speaker, he also participated in other discussion sessions that discussed issues of IP protection in the digital realm related to Artificial Intelligence and its development in other countries. This forum is an important event to broaden insights and build international networks in the field of intellectual property.
