Increase Internationalization: UNUD Faculty of Law Lecturer Joins Translation Workshop for Bali Universities

Denpasar, FLUNUD.ac.id - 6 lecturers of FH UNUD participated in the Translation Workshop for Bali Higher Education Lecturers held on June 26-27, 2023 by UPT Bahasa UNUD at Four Star by Trans Hotel, Renon, Denpasar. 5 lecturers as active participants from the Lab / Section of Civil Law, Procedure, State Administration, International, Constitutional and 1 lecturer as moderator from the Lab / Section of International Law. This workshop with the theme "The Role of Translators and Interpreters in the Internationalization of Higher Education Institutions" was opened by the Vice Rector I of UNUD (Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, M.P., IPU.).

The workshop presented 4 speakers divided into two days of implementation. Prof. Dr. Drs. Ida Bagus Putra Yadnya, M.A., Dr. Sugeng Hariyanto, Prof. IA Made Puspani and Drs. Azali Pangiringan Samosir with the involvement of several moderators: Dr. I Nengah Laba (Lecturer of Dhyana Pura and Dwijendra Universities), I Made Suryani (UNUD Education Personnel and Certified Translator) and I Made Budi Arsika, S.H., LLM (Lecturer of Lab / International Law FH UNUD).

The purpose of this workshop is to improve the ability to translate texts and interpreters. In addition, it provides an understanding of the nature of translation, explains the benefits of using technology in translating documents such as Chat GPT and Smartcat and increases the international orientation element in Higher Education. In addition to the presentation of material, workshop participants were invited to practice translating Indonesian text into English and simulating as an interpreter.
