Intellectual Property Awareness Campaign and Focus Group Discussion by the MBKM Bina Desa Petak 2025 Team

Gianyar, FLUNUD.ac.id – A Socialization and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Understanding Intellectual Property Rights was held in Petak Village, Gianyar, by the MBKM Bina Desa Petak FH Unud 2025 Team. The activity aimed to provide basic knowledge about the importance of intellectual property protection, identify the meaning and implementation process of the Nyuyak Bahaa tradition as a heritage that needs to be protected, involving traditional leaders, cultural practitioners, youth, and village officials, including the intellectual property registration process. 

The activities were conducted in June 2025 at six banjars within the traditional village of Siangan: Banjar Triwangsa, Banjar Buditirta, Banjar Selat, Banjar Teruna, Banjar Roban, and Banjar Siladan. The activity was carried out through door-to-door outreach. Through this program, the Siangan Village Development Group 2025 and MPH Bali, accompanied by sanitation cadres from each banjar, successfully educated 44 households (KK) in the traditional village of Siangan.

The outreach and FGD featured two lecturers from the Faculty of Law at Udayana University specializing in KI (Prof. Dr. NK Supasti Dharmawan, SH., M.Hum., LLM, and Putu Aras Samsithawrati, SH., LLM), a representative from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights for the Bali Region (I Made Delon Mahayana, SH., MH.), and representatives from the Gianyar Regional Development Agency (Nyoman Mudita, ST and Ferry Wisnucahyo B, SE., MM., MH.). From the Petak Village side, the Village Secretary, Village Chief, Traditional Leader, Subak Pekarangan Manager, and Pura Pucak Sari Temple Manager were present.

Through this activity, the community not only gained an understanding of the KI owned by the village but was also expected to actively participate in the process of identifying KI, both personal and communal, thereby becoming a strategic step to strengthen KI protection.
