[Denpasar]; Friday (16/05/2025), at 10.00 WITA, an Open Examination was held in the Doctor of Law Study Program of FH Unud on behalf of Ayu Putu Laksmi Danyathi with a dissertation entitled “Legal Politics of Protection of Sekaa Bendega in Realizing Welfare Krama Bendega.”

The Open Examination was held in the Hall of FH Unud Denpasar Campus led by the Coordinator of the Doctor of Law Study Program of FH Unud (Prof. Dr. I Putu Sudarma Sumadi, SH., SU.), with the Promoter Team (Prof. Dr. I Wayan Windia, SH., M.Si.; Prof.Dr. Anak Agung Istri Ari Atu Dewi, SH., MH and Dr. I Ketut Sudantra, SH., MH.) along with 4 other examiners.

The new doctor, Ayu Putu Laksmi Danyathi in her dissertation stated that the Nature of Sekaa Bendega in the life of indigenous peoples in Bali is as a traditional institution in the field of marine and fisheries in Balinese indigenous peoples in coastal areas, economic, social, cultural and religious in nature which historically continues to grow and develop in accordance with Balinese culture and local wisdom. As well as the regulatory direction of legal protection of Sekaa Bendega in Bali can adopt or accommodate the concept of Tri Hita Karana, adopt or accommodate the contents of Balinese customary awig-awig relevant to the existence of Sekaa Bendega.
