SCIL IMCT 2024: Dream It, Mean It, Do It, Be the Incredible Mooters!

Denpasar, FLUNUD.ac.id - On Saturday (25/05/2024), the closing ceremony was held as well as giving appreciation to FH UNUD students who had participated in the Student Community For International Law (SCIL) International Moot Court Training 2024 (IMCT). IMCT is an internal training and competition activity in the field of international moot court organized by SCIL every year, which aims to improve the knowledge and skills of practicing student procedural law in the field of international law. 

IMCT activities include several series, such as Course Day which invites FH UNUD Lecturers and several alumni: I Made Budi Arsika, S.H., LL.M, Alia Yofira Karunian, S.H., LL.M, and I Komang Dananjaya, S.H. At this stage, IMCT also invited champions of various international moot court competitions at the global level, such as Sebastián Machado Ramírez, LL.M, Ph.D. (Champion of Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition 2009), and Atty. Gen. Renz Javier Ayongao (Global Quarterfinalist in the 2021 International Children's Rights Moot Court) attended online as speakers. At this stage, the participants learned basic materials on international humanitarian law and international criminal justice, as well as knowledge related to dossier-making and trial practice.

Subsequently, the participants carried out file-making on a position case that raised the theme of humanitarian law in international criminal justice. The next series was followed by the Pleading Session to present their files in a moot court simulation using the International Criminal Court (ICC) system, with judges from various SCIL alumni. In the final round, IMCT also invited Mr. I Made Mudi Arsika, S.H., LL.M and Mr. Anak Agung Bagus Surya Putra, S.H., LL.M as judges.
