Seminar and Socialization of the New Criminal Code Cooperation of FH Unud - LBH Advocacy Peduli Bangsa Bali

Denpasar-Malang, FLUNUD.ac.id - FH Unud and the Legal Aid Institute of the Indonesian Advocacy Congress (Advokasi Peduli Bangsa) Bali collaborated to organize the “National Seminar and Socialization of the New Criminal Code: Between Expectations, Challenges and Implementation in the Criminal Justice System” on Thursday (06/03/2025) at the FH Unud Hall, Denpasar Campus.

The Chairman of the Indonesian Advocates Congress DPD Bali Province (Nyoman Gde Sudiantara, SH.) gave a speech and continued with the opening of the seminar by the Dean of FH Unud (Prof. Dr. Putu Gede Arya Sumerta Yasa, SH., M.Hum). This activity presented 3 keynote speakers, namely: Head of the Bali High Prosecutor's Office (Dr. Ketut Sumedana, S.H., M.H.), Representative of the Bali Regional Police (Police Commissioner I Nyoman Gatra, SH., MH.) and Representative of the Head of the Denpasar High Court (Cening Budiana, SH., MH).

After the keynote speaker session, it was continued with the presentation of material by 2 speakers, namely: Prof. Dr. Gde Made Swardhana, S.H., M.H. (Professor of Criminal Law FH Unud) and Dr. Albert Aries, SH, MH (Drafting Team of the New Criminal Code) which was moderated by Dr. Lukas Banu, SH, MH (Chairman of LBH Advokasi Peduli Bangsa Bali).

The seminar participants amounted to 150 people consisting of the Head of FH Unud and its staff, lecturers, students of FH Unud and other universities in Bali, and advocates. The purpose of this seminar is to socialize some changes in the new Criminal Code which will soon be enacted in 2026.

In addition to the seminar, the Dean of FH Unud and the Head of LBH Advocacy Peduli Bangsa signed a Cooperation Agreement in the field of Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi which is used as the basis for implementing the organization of subsequent scientific activities to improve the quality of legal education.
