Badung, Faculty of Law, Udayana University, through the Notary Master Student Association (IMMK), held a National Seminar with the theme “Digitization of Legal-Land Services: Threat or Future for the Notary/PPAT Profession in Supporting Sustainable Development”. This event was held at the Lecture Building of Udayana University, Bukit Jimbaran Campus, and was attended by various academics, government officials, and students.

This National Seminar presented the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Deputy Head of the National Land Agency, H. Ossy Dermawan, B.Sc., M.Sc. as the keynote speaker. The event was officially opened by the Rector of Udayana University, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D., who in his speech expressed his support for the holding of an academic forum discussing the transformation of land services in the digital era. The Rector emphasized that universities have an important role in responding to the dynamics of legal and technological developments, particularly in the field of land law, which has direct implications for legal certainty and national development.

The event began with a report from the Chair of the Notary Master's Student Association of the Faculty of Law, Udayana University, I Putu Bagus Padmanegara, S.H., S.Sos., who said that the national seminar was part of the implementation of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education). In his report, he said that Master of Notary students not only study legal aspects normatively, but are also required to understand developments in notary and land practices, which are now increasingly integrated with digital systems. Therefore, this seminar is expected to provide a space for academic discussion on the opportunities and challenges of digitizing land services for the notary and PPAT professions in the future.

In his presentation as the keynote speaker, Deputy Minister of ATR/Deputy Head of BPN Ossy Dermawan explained various government policies in encouraging digital transformation in the land sector. The digitization of land services is considered a strategic step in increasing transparency, efficiency, and legal certainty in land administration management. In addition, digital transformation is also expected to accelerate public services and support the sustainable development agenda in Indonesia.

This national seminar also featured several speakers from various backgrounds, including Dr. I Made Sumadra, S.SiT., M.M. Head of the Rights Determination and Registration Division of the Bali Regional Office of the National Land Agency, I Wayan Adhi Karmayana, Head of the General Legal Administration Division of the Bali Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, and Dr. I Made Pria Dharsana, S.H., M.Hum., who provided academic and practical perspectives on developments in land law and notary services. In addition, Ni Made Ganetri Cantika, S.H., a Master's student in Notary Studies at Udayana University, was also present to provide the academic generation's views on the challenges of digitization in land law practice.

The seminar was moderated by students from the Master's program in Notary Studies at the Faculty of Law, Udayana University, and was interactive, with a discussion session between the speakers and seminar participants.

The event was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Udayana University, Prof. Dr. Putu Gede Arya Sumertha Yasa, S.H., M.Hum., the Vice Deans of the Faculty of Law, Udayana University, the Coordinator of the Master of Notary Studies Program, lecturers from the Faculty of Law, Udayana University, students from the Faculty of Law, Udayana University, and other universities in Bali.

Through this National Seminar, it is hoped that academic and practical understanding of digital transformation in land services can be strengthened, while encouraging the readiness of prospective legal professionals, particularly Notaries and PPATs, in facing changes in the legal service system that are increasingly technology-based. This forum is also expected to be a space for constructive dialogue between the government, academics, and students in formulating the direction of land law system development that is adaptive, transparent, and sustainable.
