Denpasar, FLUNUD.ac.id – The 13th ALSA Speak Up returns as a platform for developing English language skills through four competition branches held online. The 13th ALSA Speak Up is a national-scale English competition organized by the Faculty of Law, Udayana University, through ALSA Local Chapter Udayana University. This event aims to provide a space for participants to develop their English skills, boost self-confidence, and hone communication and critical thinking skills through academic competition.
There are four competition categories in The 13th ALSA Speak Up, namely the speech competition, storytelling competition, debate competition, and essay writing and presenting competition. The entire competition series is conducted online via the Zoom platform, allowing participants to join without having to be physically present at the venue.
The event series began with the submission deadline for the preliminary rounds of the storytelling competition, speech competition, and essay competition on October 12, 2026. Subsequently, the final round of the essay competition and the debate competition were held on October 22, 2026. The competition series continued on October 23, 2026, with the final rounds of the speech competition and storytelling competition, which concluded with a closing ceremony and award presentation for the winners.
In the speech, storytelling, and essay writing and presenting competitions, participants were offered several theme choices tailored to their respective interests and abilities. Meanwhile, the debate competition provided participants with the opportunity to develop their skills in arguing, presenting opinions, and responding to others' perspectives in English.
Through the hosting of The 13th ALSA Speak Up, the English Development Division of ALSA LC Unud hopes that this event serves as a means for participants to enhance their English language competence while building confidence in conveying ideas in a structured and critical manner. The event is also expected to foster a competitive spirit and broaden participants' experience in taking part in academic English competitions.
