BSO UMCC Faculty of Law Udayana University Successfully Hosts the 9th Tjokorda Raka Dherana NMCC 2026

DENPASAR, FH UNUD — The Udayana Moot Court Community (UMCC), a semi-autonomous student organization under the Bachelor of Law Study Program at the Faculty of Law, Udayana University, successfully hosted the 9th Tjokorda Raka Dherana National Moot Court Competition (NMCC) 2026 on October 16–19, 2026. Marking its ninth edition, this national moot court competition serves as a strategic platform for law students from various universities across Indonesia to develop their abilities, skills, and professionalism in criminal procedural law.

This year, NMCC TRD IX adopted the theme “Surasakti Dharma Yoddha: The Resolve of Legal Minds in Upholding the Rule of Law Against Transnational Crimes.” The competition was attended by 11 delegations and one observer from various universities in Indonesia. Through this theme, NMCC TRD IX aimed to sharpen legal analysis skills, construct legal arguments, and strengthen students' understanding of law enforcement against transnational crimes.

The series of activities took place over four days across several strategic locations. The event commenced with an Opening Ceremony held at the Widya Sabha Auditorium, Udayana University. Subsequently, the preliminary and final round trial simulations were conducted directly at the Denpasar District Court, before the entire competition series was officially concluded with a Closing Ceremony at Dharma Negara Alaya.

Beyond focusing on legal competency development, NMCC TRD IX 2026 consistently integrated elements of Balinese culture as part of its organizational identity. Various traditional Balinese art performances were featured across key stages, such as the Baris Dance during the rotating trophy handover at the Opening Ceremony, the Topeng Dance accompanying the announcement of nominations, and the Saraswati Dance presented during the winners' announcement at the Closing Ceremony. The inclusion of these traditional dances served as an appreciation of Bali's rich artistic and cultural heritage, as well as a means to introduce local cultural values to participants from across the country.

Through the hosting of NMCC TRD IX 2026, BSO UMCC FH Unud is committed not only to presenting a high-quality and practical moot court competition, but also to encouraging the character development of legal professionals with integrity, upholding a spirit of competition, and steadfastly adhering to the values of justice and the rule of law.
