Denpasar, FLUNUD.ac.id - Kadek Ary Purnama Dewi who works as a Lecturer at Ngurah Rai University successfully earned her doctorate with a dissertation entitled "Model of Personal Data Protection Regulation for Electronic Wallet Users" at the FH UNUD Hall, Denpasar Campus on Friday (23/02/2024).

The doctoral promotion was led directly by Koprodi S3 (Doctoral) Law Science FH UNUD (Prof. Dr. I Putu Sudarma Sumadi, S.H., S.U.) accompanied by the Promoter Team: Prof. Dr. Ni Ketut Supasti Dharmawan, S.H., M.Hum., LLM., Dr. Marwanto, S.H., M.Hum., Prof. Dr. Desak Putu Dewi Kasih, S.H., M.Hum., and 3 other examining lecturers.

The regulation of personal data protection on electronic wallets in a comparative perspective can refer to the provisions in the United States, the United Kingdom and Malaysia. The UK and Malaysia involve the competent authority in determining the transfer of personal data across national borders, although they still provide leeway as long as there is a legal mechanism for data subjects. The security of personal data protection is not left to the Personal Data Controller, but to the state authorities. The future regulatory model for the protection of personal data in electronic wallets requires the regulation of the obligation of consent from personal data subjects in the transfer of personal data both at home and abroad.
