Raising Awareness Among Rural Communities About the Protection of Intellectual Property and Cultural Heritage by the MBKM Bina Desa Batubulan 2025 Team

Batubulan, FLUNUD.ac.id – Intellectual Property (IP) Awareness Campaign and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) for the Batubulan Village Development Program 2025, themed “Enhancing Community Awareness of Intellectual Property Protection and Cultural Heritage,” was held on Sunday (July 13, 2025) at the Wiswakarma Museum in Batubulan Village, organized by the MBKM Village Development Team in collaboration with the Independent Internship Team of the Denpasar Chapter of the Indonesian Advocates Association (Peradi) 2025.

This program was implemented with the aim of increasing the legal awareness of the Batubulan Village community regarding the importance of intellectual property (IP) registration, and the FGD focused on the documentation of communal IP for traditional cultural expressions, specifically the Baris Poleng dance from the Pagutan Kaja and Pagutan Kelod villages. The presentation was delivered directly by the Regional Research and Innovation Agency of Gianyar Regency: I Nyoman Mudita, ST., MAP. (Junior Policy Analyst), Professor at the Faculty of Law, Udayana University in the field of KI (Prof. Dr. Ni Ketut Supasti Dharmawan S.H., M.Hum., LLM and Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Udayana University (Putu Aras Samsithawrati, S.H., LLM) as speakers). The event was also attended by the Head of the S1 Law Program at the Faculty of Law, University of Udayana (Dr. Made Gde Subha Karma Resen, S.H., M.Kn), the Village Chief of Batubulan, who officially opened the event, the Village Head, Traditional Leaders, Jero Mangku Pura Babian, and the Uwed Baris Poleng Dance Performers.

Additionally, certificates of copyright for the Baris Poleng dance were presented to SMKN 1 Sukawati and St. Chandra Werdhi Kencana Banjar Tegehe of Batubulan Village.
