SCIL FH UNUD Organizes 2022 National Webinar "Legal Standing of Unilateral Economic Sanctions Against State And The Effect Towards Indonesia"

Community of international law enthusiasts who are members of the Student Community for International Law (SCIL) FH Unud on August 14, 2022 held a national webinar with the topic “Legal Standing of Unilateral Economic Sanctions Against State and The Effect Towards Indonesia” was attended by 150 participants. This webinar presents 3 speakers, namely: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hanif Nur Widhiyanti, SH, M. Hum. (Lecturer of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya), Made Adhitya Anggriawan Wisadha, SH, LL.M. (Alumni of Faculty of Law Unud and Diplomat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia), I Gusti Ngurah Parikesit Widiatedja, SH, M. Hum., LL.M., Ph.D. (Lecturer of the Faculty of Law, Udayana University). The topic of the webinar becomes important to discuss because economic sanctions issued unilaterally by one country to another still cause pros and cons in the practice of international relations. Unilateral economic sanctions have negative impacts, such as delays or the imposition of higher costs on the purchase and delivery of products (food, medicine, medical devices and infrastructure maintenance services), preventing the delivery of financial aid from international organizations to the sanctioned country, blocking public access to property and businesses in the sanctioned State. These impacts certainly lead to violations of Human Rights (HAM). Through this national webinar, SCIL FH Unud invites participants to learn critical thinking, increase understanding and new knowledge related to legal issues at national and international levels.
