The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition is the most prestigious and internationally recognized international moot court competition that raises a variety of international law issues. This year, with a position case entitled “The Case Concerning the Naegea Sea,” the competition raised issues regarding the jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice faced with a compromissory clause in a regional treaty, the arrest and domestic prosecution of a former Minister from abroad, the validity of the use of a fixed baseline due to climate change-induced sea level rise, and the legitimacy of an entity acting on behalf of a state government to consent to the waiver of state property immunity.
