Socialization of Song Modification Copyright Protection in Batubulan Village by the Civil Law Clinic Team

Batubulan, FLUNUD.ac.id - The Socialization Team of Street Law Civil Law Clinic FH Unud has carried out the socialization of the importance of copyright protection for song modifications uploaded on social media to Batubulan Village youth with the theme “Copyright Protection for Song Modification on Social Media” on Sunday (06/15/2025) which took place in the Batubulan Village Office Meeting Room. This activity aims to provide legal understanding to young people regarding legal restrictions in modifying song works such as remixes, mashups, and covers which are now widely uploaded to social media.

The socialization team itself is a collaboration between lecturers (Prof. Dr. Ni Ketut Supasti Dharmawan, SH., M.Hum., LLM., Putu Aras Samsithawrati, SH., LLM., Putri Triari Dwijayanthi, SH., MH., and Dr. Made Aditya Pramana Putra, SH., MH.) and students who are members of the Civil Law Clinic FH Unud. The participants consisted of Jegeg Bagus Batubulan, Sekaa Teruna in Batubulan Village, and MBKM Bina Desa Batubulan Students, who are representatives of youth in the Batubulan area.

This activity was motivated by the high trend of reusing popular songs on social media that are modified without permission, which can basically lead to violations of the moral and economic rights of the creator. Therefore, this education was held to explain why it is important to understand copyright in the digital world, so that young people can become creative and legally responsible media users.
