Socialization of Street Law Civil Law Clinic on Song Copyright at SMAN 1 Tabanan

Tabanan, FLUNUD.ac.id - The Socialization Team of Street Law of the Civil Law Clinic FH UNUD has carried out the socialization of the importance of copyright on songs used as video content backsound to students at SMA Negeri 1 Tabanan. 

The socialization with the theme Copyright Protection on the Use of Songs as Video Content Backsound on Social Media delivered on Saturday (17/06/2023) at SMA Negeri 1 Tabanan received a warm welcome and was attended by students who are members of the Base ball extracurricular. The socialization team itself is a collaboration of lecturers and students who are members of the Civil Law Clinic of the Faculty of Law, Udayana University with the Chairperson Prof. Dr. Ni Ketut Supasti Dharmawan, SH., M.Hum., LLM. 

The purpose of this socialization is to disseminate knowledge about civil law, especially copyright, to the public so that they better understand copyright protection. The selection of high school students as participants of the socialization because the theme of copyright on the song that is used as a backsound video content delivered in the socialization is very often in contact with the daily lives of high school students who today often upload videos on social media.

The enthusiasm of the participants was felt towards this socialization through many critical questions about the material presented. One student, Canda, for example, asked about the copyright of a song whose lyrics were generated by Artificial Intelligence. Another student asked how the mechanism of filing legal remedies against songs used by others without the author's permission. Another asked about the mechanism for recording song or video creations and where to record them. Apart from these questions, there are still many other interesting questions that have been asked and have been given flexible answers with reference to the copyright protection of songs and videos based on Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright by the Socialization Team consisting of 4 (four) students of the Civil Law Clinic FH UNUD (Surya, Wardhana, Krisna and Kevin) as well as a team of lecturers (Prof. Dr. Ni Ketut Supasti Dharmawan, S.H., M.Hum., LLM Putu Aras Samsithawrati, SH, LLM, Putri Triari Dwijayanthi, SH, MH, I Dewa Ayu Dwimayasari, SH, MH and Dewa Ayu Dian Sawitri, SH, MH).
