WORKING VISIT BY THE LEGISLATIVE BODY OF THE INDONESIAN HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO GAIN INSIGHT INTO THE INDONESIAN SINGLE DATA BILL

Badung - The Working Visit by the Legislative Body of the Indonesian House of Representatives in the context of drafting the Academic Paper and Bill on Indonesian Single Data was held on Monday (March 2, 2026) at the Bangsa Room, Udayana University, Jimbaran, Badung. 

The event was led by the Chairman of the Legislative Body of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Dr. Bob Hasan, and the Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Body of the Indonesian House of Representatives as the Head of the Delegation, Major General (Ret.) Sturman Panjaitan, S.H. Also present were the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives Legislation Body, Dr. Bob Hasan; Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the Bali Electoral District, I Nyoman Parta; Indonesian National Archives Ambassador, Rieke Diah Pitaloka; representatives of the Bali Provincial Government; elements of the Indonesian National Armed Forces and the Indonesian National Police; academics; and other stakeholders.

The discussion forum held during the event featured input from Bappenas, the Indonesian Air Force, the National Archives Ambassador, academics from Udayana University, local government, and village heads. This forum served as a space for substantive dialogue to enrich the substance of the academic paper and the One Data Indonesia Bill.

The speakers at the event included academics from Udayana University, namely the Rector of Udayana University, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Udayana University, Prof. Dr. Putu Gede Arya Sumerta Yasa, SH., MH, Dr. Jimmy Z. Usfunan, other speakers included the Head of Bongkasa Village, the Indonesian Air Force Head of the Indonesian Air Force Geospatial Center, and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at IPB University.

In his speech, the Rector of Udayana University, Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana, emphasized that in the era of digital transformation, data quality is the main foundation for planning, budgeting, and evaluating public policies. The challenges faced by regions so far, namely data inconsistencies, have the potential to cause program inaccuracies and reduce public trust in government policies. Meanwhile, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Unud Prof. Putu Gede Arya Sumerta Yasa emphasized that development data has indeed been available, including from Bappenas, but often development targets are inaccurate due to the lack of optimal integration of central and regional data. Inaccurate and scattered data has an impact on policies that are less relevant and less effective, including in the distribution of aid that is not on target, thereby disrupting budget efficiency. Therefore, data integration down to the village level, empowerment of local community groups in data collection, and a focus on village potential are urgent matters.
